Lent 2010

So, my church decided that for lent we were going to join together in solidarity and give up drinking anything EXCEPT water.  No soda, no milk, no juice, no sports drinks, no coffee, no tea.  Nothing but water.  This seemed like a great thing to add into what I was planning on doing for lent – working out, eating healthily and appreciating my health and body.  The only thing is, when you are already saying no to most of the foods you want, it’s really really hard to give up all of the drinks you want too.  Dieting is much easier when you know you can still have that diet coke with your salad.  But… Lettuce, veggies and WATER?  wow.

I will be drinking fasting tea, because… it’s only flavored water, and it gives me at least an hour before I need to eat again.  It’s a godsend.
